Neil,

I am not smart enough to know if this is a genuine Russell. The end of the cock and the crude machining of the main plate sets off alarm bells.

It doesn’t help much but the 1918 book calls it “Major” and offered SS and DS for 18s to 6s.

"Lipshitz & Goldman" is pretty good isn't it. You can almost imagine walking into such a store in Brooklyn. It is now a "Rent-a-Center furniture store.

Here is the blue 16s faux DS dial. The surface of this dial is a bit like a cream color...just off white.

This one is similar and for an 18s mod '83. It is obviously DS and has beautiful blue print. The watch was retailed by CD Peacock of Chicago.
