Hi, here is one of my favorite Verge Pocket Watches, I am unsure of the Date and it looks like it was made in an Irish rural unused Cowshed. It runs very nicely; the Snake on the Balance Cock was obviously engraved by someone who had never seen a Snake; it has an Arrow Head Tongue. The Case has a set of very Rare Blarney Hallmarks and because of the wear on the back of the Case the Pocket Watch was in use for a very long time. I am pretty sure it is not a Product of London or Liverpool? Any way I love it and it is a Keeper and will stay in my Collection. In the Back of the Case is what looks like a Watchmakers-Jewelers Code for the price? Regards Ray

I'm thinking more like Sea Serpent, rather than snake.

Hi Neil, you could be right; I thought because there are no Snakes in Ireland; maybe it is some sort of Mythological Creature. Regards Ray
